When is the Carson / Tahoe Moto?

Carson / Tahoe Moto is August 21–24, 2014. The event starts on the afternoon of Thursday, August 21 and ends with pre-departure coffee and donuts on Sunday morning, August 24. Groups of riders often form up on Sunday morning for the ride back home.

Here is the event schedule.

Friday and Saturday are planned for as much riding as you can handle. We’ll give you maps showing some of the fantastic motorcycling in the area, both on pavement and on dirt, and connect you with local riders with deep, current knowledge to help you plan your days. Friday evening includes a group buffet dinner at the beautiful Carson Valley Inn. Saturday night includes an outdoor barbecue in the historic Minden Park. And in between we’ll have talks, seminars, and riding skills demonstrations from top motorcyclists.

August is a fantastic time for motorcycling in the high desert of the Great Basin and the High Sierra. Daytime temperatures are generally very comfortable and evenings are cool. Our high elevation means low humidity. August rain is rare and generally limited to brief afternoon showers. The mountain passes are free of snow.
